The Jewellery Show smashes previous attendance figures

Time flies so fast that the last time I wrote to you we were striding full speed ahead into The Jewellery Show at Spring Fair International, with fingers tightly crossed that this year’s event would meet with our expectations and hopes for the trade. Well folks, if you haven’t already heard (if you’ve been off the planet, that is!) I’m delighted to say that it transpired to be a fabulous show, exceeding those expectations and smashing previous attendance figures. Over 20,000* dedicated jewellery buyers were drawn through the doors of what is the UK’s largest specialist international jewellery show, providing the industry with a fantastic launch platform and inspiration for the year ahead. Many exhibitors declared it to be their most successful ever trade show.

The outlook is certainly more optimistic now than it was this time last year, with beads, branded jewellery and silver all set to help beat the recession according to Birmingham Assay Office CEO, Michael Allchin. While nobody can fail to see that beads have already brought in big bucks over the past year, a budding trend can be found in stacking rings, while product personalisation in general is becoming ever-more popular across all sentiment-driven, occasions-based industries. As for personal favourites, bohemian pearl jewellery, bright colours, recycled and reclaimed metals, ethically sourced stones and mythological themes are all sparkling in my eyes.
