| Lonmin Design Innovation Awards open for entries 08 Mar 2010by Charlotte Cowell Jewellery designers are invited to enter the Lonmin Design Innovation Award 2010, which recognises outstanding design in platinum. Sponsored by Lonmin, one of the world's largest producers of platinum, the award is open to all UK-based jewellery designers, whether they are independent or working for a manufacturer or retailer. There are two competition levels, one for designers with over five years’ commercial experience, the other for designers with less than five years’ experience under their belt. International Jewellery London supports this second tier of the awards. Either winners will be selected by the judging panel and then presented with their accolades at a glittering awards ceremony, which last year took place at London’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion. The deadline for entries is April 1 2010; click here for more information or contact Julie Dauncey for more details. Pictured above right is one of last year's winning designs by jeweller Tom Rucker.
